06/30/2003 Entry: "No moving pictures"
One of my friends has the rather intriguing habit of coming up with something different that he does each month. Examples are; not eating meat, not swearing, going swimming three times a week and there's plenty more. He doesn't always manage them, but the very idea of setting yourself a challange for a month entertained me. In coming up with ideas for him I suggested 'No moving pictures'. No, this isn't abstaining from people flashing photographs in front of you and waving them around, this is about a lack of television and general media along those lines. He said it was too difficult, and so July is my month to prove him wrong. I don't watch any television anyway, but I do watch movies. So that's them gone. I've also decided to include computer games, as they're of the same ilk. No little internet short movie clips, and I'd cut out any computer usage whatsoever but alas, my job is to work with them.
This could be an interesting, or very dull, month!
