Hopefully get a seperate website for this sorted, but as people are interested I'll put details here.

Pictures can be found here.

Day 1

Ok, first part of the project was to cut the giant easter egg in two. I was thinking several ways to do this but decided to go with my first idea of running a knife around the edge. I tried scoring it, but that didn't work too well. So I then heated the knife up and voila, went through quite easily. It took off a few mm of chocolate though so once the initial hole was there I then tried the sharp knife cutting through the chocolate approach. Unfortunatly this weakened the side and nearly cracked the egg! That would be a disaster. So I carried on just going around with a heated knife and ended up with two sides.

Worried about the crack and weakened structure I decided that I'd take some of the chocolate from one of the spare shells and spread it liberarly over the crack. So I got to put the first bit of cream in, and it looks like it might actually fit! After spreading the chocolate over the crack I then put the halves back into the fridge to firm up before inputting the big creamy wad.

Day 2

the main project itself. There were discussions about what to use to fill the eggs, the first thought of course being to use small cadburys creme eggs themselves. This would require a lot of eggs though, a definite downer but represented the perfect egg. McDonalds make creme egg mcflurries and have buckets of the gloop, someone suggested trying to buy a bucket of that. There was also the option of making some fondent stuff similar and using that instead. I opted for the original way, it's a one off, it has to be done. With this in mind I purchased a box of 48 creme eggs! I figured that should be enough. I also got 6 creme eggs with the easter egg. Altogether 54 eggs, not bad.

I had friends willing to help me (of course they were just in it for the eggshells) so we arranged to meet up and go ahead. And ahead we did! 54 eggs later (they managed to eat about 3-4 shells each, wusses!) we'd almost filled one half of the easter. Argh! That's no good. Back to the drawing board. I had no idea whether to carry on and buy more eggs, the project hasn't been cheap so far as it is, or to buy a smaller egg and fill that. Handily it was decided for me when my friend Simon very nicely donated money! So now I'll be buying 2 more boxes of 48 eggs which should fill it amply.

The egg should weigh around 2Kg when finished . . . EEK!

One of my friends has the rather intriguing habit of coming up with something different that he does each month. Examples are; not eating meat, not swearing, going swimming three times a week and there's plenty more. He doesn't always manage them, but the very idea of setting yourself a challange for a month entertained me. In coming up with ideas for him I suggested 'No moving pictures'. No, this isn't abstaining from people flashing photographs in front of you and waving them around, this is about a lack of television and general media along those lines. He said it was too difficult, and so July is my month to prove him wrong. I don't watch any television anyway, but I do watch movies. So that's them gone. I've also decided to include computer games, as they're of the same ilk. No little internet short movie clips, and I'd cut out any computer usage whatsoever but alas, my job is to work with them.

This could be an interesting, or very dull, month!

Ok, the captions are totally hilarious but I think this sums up what I've been seeing too much of lately. The US has always kept the citizens in a state of relative panic but now the UK seems to be taking a similar stance. Sure any halfway intellectual people will see this for what it is, but the average person will quite easily be taken in. And after an extended time it becomes the norm. In 'Bowling for Columbine' it was put forward that this constant state of panic is possibly a main factor to US gun problems. What problems are we trying to cause ourselves?

Whilst out tonight I visited the bakery section at Sainsbury. Yes I adore the bakery section and it's a weakness, but I need the energy source. In the cake display cabinet they had these cute pink and blue cakes that looked quite appealing, obviously for children but then I am a big child. For some bizarre reason though they'd decided to call the Fun Buns . . . and then decorate them with either Barbie or Spiderman. After I stopped laughing at the concept of Barbies Fun Buns I had to buy one. So here's me nibbling on Barbies Fun Buns.

Well, I went to London. I marched, I took photographs, I didn't think much of what people were saying or how they turned it into a protest against other issues. But so is life when people get on their soapbox, they have to say as much as they can about everything whilst people are listening. Anyway, there's some black and white pictures in the photogallery and I'll be putting the colour ones up soon!

Surely any respectable UK person should remember Potatoe Faces? Is it just me or does eating a potatoe crafted into the shape of a face come across as evil to you too? Well here's my opinion on the subject.

Here's a quote from someboday else:

at what point in life do you decide to stop being nice and treat people with the same contempt with which they treat you? And if I stopped being nice, would I sleep at night? And what if I was horrible to someone who was nice and it turned out I'd messed it up?

A few years ago I think I considered the same thing, and here I am now. I'm elitest, I tend not share my feelings with people and keep my hurt to myself. You can still be nice to people, and the people that treat you with contempt and are horrid you just cut off inside. It works quite well until you meet that nice person. Then they have to try and open you up, and sometimes they just see the outer you not realising of your inner turmoil and all you have locked inside. One day maybe my faith in people will return, but over the years my shell has just been hardened. Why do I believe that people are evil?

Well I decided I was too lazy to create an actual webpage, and so instead I would just setup an online journal. You will also find a link to my picture gallery. This is in memory of www.jasonisgod.com. I doubt I'll ever be as funny, but I can certainly try to be as controversial!
